All I want for Christmas is The Beautiful People

Back in the 90s, I lived in a warehouse in Toronto with two DJs who would play music all day… one of them mentioned that they couldn’t find anything that would mix with Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel,” and being the music theory head that I was, I explained that was because of its less common 12/8 time signature.
We spent a few days coming up with lists of songs in 12. Whitney Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight” was one. So was Pet Shop Boys’ “Can You Forgive Her” and Tears For Fears “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.”
By the late 90s, Marilyn Manson would take his campaign of anger and decay and rebellion to the Burbs with his song Beautiful People which was also in 12. Oddly enough, he had a lot of hits with that time signature. “Dope Show,” “Disposable Teens” and even his cover of “Personal Jesus.”
another song in 12 was the Mariah Carey earworm “All I Want For Christmas” and… well… here you go.
